2 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. ² Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. ³ This is good and pleases God our Savior, ⁴ who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Today we begin our 31 day journey of prayer for the United States of America. It is my desire that God bring revival to our great nation  Day one begins with prayer for our leaders.  Whether we agree with the politics of our nation’s leaders or not, we should still be praying for them.  It is not easy being responsible for the course this nation will take.  Now more than ever we need to pray for those in power.

Slowly we see politicans making decisions that go against the Word of God.  Today more politicians are interested in getting reelected than doing what is right for our nation.  Please pray that God bring revival to Washington,.  That God give wisdom to our leaders to work together,  and do what is right not what is convenient.

Take time today from your day to lift up our nations leaders in prayer.  They need our prayers and God’s wisdom to help guide them in doing what is right for our nation.
