Jesus our Warrior

One of the aspects of God that we do not share on often enough is God as a warrior.  Moses spoke about this in his song of deliverance in Exodus 15:1-4.

Exodus 15:1-4 (NLT)

A Song of Deliverance

15 Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord:“I will sing to the Lord,
    for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider
    into the sea.

2 The Lord is my strength and my song;  he has given me victory.
This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

3 The Lord is a warrior;Yahweh[a] is his name!

4 Pharaoh’s chariots and army he has hurled into the sea.
The finest of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea.[b]

Jesus is a warrior too.

Colossians 2:15 (NLT)

15 In this way, he disarmed[a] the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

Christ went and battled death, hell, and the grave and won.  In many aspects our men and women in uniform have similar qualities to Jesus.

Jesus and the soldier were willing to die for you

The soldier dies for our freedom

Christ died for our freedom from sin and death

This memorial day thank God for HIS Jesus to died for our sins, and remember our fallen warriors who have died for our freedoms
