The Gospel In Country Music: Your My Kind of Woman

You are beautiful, my darling,
      beautiful beyond words.
   Your eyes are like doves
      behind your veil.
   Your hair falls in waves,
like a flock of goats winding down the slopes of Gilead.
2 Your teeth are as white as sheep,
      recently shorn and freshly washed.
   Your smile is flawless,
each tooth matched with its twin.[a]
3 Your lips are like scarlet ribbon;
      your mouth is inviting.
Your cheeks are like rosy pomegranates
      behind your veil.
4 Your neck is as beautiful as the tower of David,
jeweled with the shields of a thousand heroes.
5 Your breasts are like two fawns,
twin fawns of a gazelle grazing among the lilies.
6 Before the dawn breezes blow
      and the night shadows flee,
I will hurry to the mountain of myrrh
and to the hill of frankincense.
7 You are altogether beautiful, my darling,
      beautiful in every way.

God loves romance.  In this passage is Solomon is speaking to and about his wife.  These words are both natural and Spiritual.  This post will deal with what these words mean in the natural world.  As husbands it is important that we love our wife.  The scripture mandates in Ephesians 5:33

So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

One of the issues that men have in general is showing love.  Men show love for their wives by providing, and taking care of them.  We have trouble in expressing it with words.  Men, we need to follow the example of Solomon and tell our wives verbally how much we love them.  Amy Grant sang a song that said: “If Solomon can say ‘baby, baby’ why can’t we?”

Husbands tell your wife:

You’re my kind of woman
A match made in heaven
By
God’s gentle hands
I’ll love you forever
Together we’ll stand
You’re my kind of woman

and she will tell you
You’re my kind of man

Until next time,

tell your wife she is your kind of woman,

and it will help keep the romance in your marriage
