There was a poll on Fox News that said that about 40 percent of Americans are feeling some stress over the debt issue. Many are worried over their own personal debt. If things do not get settled in Washington things could get rough all over the country for many folks.
I tell you solving the debt crisis is not rocket science, but people do not want to apply God’s principles to the issue. Thus they make things harder than they really are.
Washington needs to get back in touch with the rest of America, and do what millions of Americans do each month. Budget!!!
If we cannot spend more than we make, why can’t Washington? If we are in debt because of credit cards, we have to cut back until we pay off the debt. Why can’t Washington. If we have to leave within our means, why can’t Washington.
Our leaders need to use common sense to get out of this. I know that the US. budget is greater than our household budget, but the principles are the same. The word of God stated that the borrower is a servant to the lender, to be free is to be out of debt.
Washington is very generous with our money. Our leaders cannot agree on a budget, but come raise time they all come together and vote themselves one. Many Americans cannot afford health coverage, but yet we pay for their Cadillac plans. We have to balance our personal finances, yet congress and the president do not want a balanced budget amendment.
We cannot control what Washington does, but we can control what we do. I am asking that we as Christians and as Americans get out of debt. If we are in debt, we need to get out because things could get very tough if congress and the president cannot come together. Join the “Great Recovery” This is a movement started by Dave Ramsey to help people get out of debt.
Do not be a slave to debt. This is not rocket science. Debt equals slavery, but financial independence equals freedom and peace of mind.
