Do People Do Dumb Things With Smart Phones?

When I first saw this commercial, it made me think about Congressman Anthony Weiner.  What he did with his smart phone was indeed dumb.  I am not here to belittle the congressman. He is already going through enough without me piling on.  I am  here to say that when we use social media sites we need to be careful and use wisdom.

With today’s predominant use of electronic media devices,  our lives are more open than ever.  I am not speaking against these sites, but I am saying we need to be careful with what we post.  Not everything we do or say needs to be put online, because it can also come back to bite us if we are not careful.  Congressman Weiner is a prime example of this.

Proverbs 4: 4-8 says:

⁴ My father taught me,
   “Take my words to heart.
      Follow my commands, and you will live.
⁵ Get wisdom; develop good judgment.
      Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.
⁶ Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you.
      Love her, and she will guard you.
⁷ Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!
      And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.
⁸ If you prize wisdom, she will make you great.
      Embrace her, and she will honor you.
⁹ She will place a lovely wreath on your head;
      she will present you with a beautiful crown.”
