Country music is known for its cheating songs. The song by Moe Bandy “I Cheated Me Right Out of You” tells it like it is when a man cheats on his wife with someone else. There are consequences to be paid. The Bible puts it this way in Galatians 6:77
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
When someone cheats on their spouse, many do not think of the consequences. Arnold Schwarzenegger unfortunately is now reaping the consequences of his actions. It does not just stop there. His family has also fallen victim to his indiscretions. The internet, TV, and other communication forums are all talking about his affair.
Men of God, if you are thinking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, as someone once put it: “Maybe you should pay more attention to your own lawn.” Sleeping around on your spouse will need to a lot of pain, not only for you but also for your wife and kids.
The long-term consequences are to great for some short-term pleasure. Sowing seeds of adultery will reap a crop of divorce, alimony, hurt, betrayal, bitterness, custody hearings, you get the point.
Even if you don’t get caught on this side of eternity, one day you will have to answer before God for your actions. God is not mocked, whatever you sow, you shall also reap.
until next time
tend to your own marriage, and you will not have to worry about someone elses lawn.
